The five-day Foundation Course is designed for students who would like to acquire a better understanding of the wide range of products available on DIY and specialist paint shelves.

Students will learn how to prepare surfaces for paint finishes, and will also learn about the properties and advantages of various paints and solvents.







Practical hands-on lectures will be given on the basic rules of colour, including how to mix, match or transfer colour from perception and interpretation to realization, whether for classical art projects or for redecorating an interior.

Students will learn how to tint, shade and mix paints to match traditional finishes. An introduction to the techniques of faux marble will be given towards the end of the course. Each student will leave with completed samples and a decorated object.
