Studio Mougins, France

Studio workshops

Nick Atkins and his sister Paula, after more than 70 years of combined experience, opened the Giorgione Studio of Decorative Arts in 2016 as a school to share with others their lifetime of mastering and practicing the techniques of decorative painting, gilding and European Chinese lacquer work.

A range of painted finishes will be taught at both amateur and professional level, from rosewood to malachite, from tortoiseshell to gilding, together with traditional European lacquer techniques.

Custom courses

Students will learn how to restore, decorate or embellish many different surfaces in their houses or on their furniture.

Courses and teaching methods at the Giorgione Studio are simple to follow. Students leave equipped with enough knowledge, confidence and expertise to take up decorative painting and finishing either as a hobby or as a professional career. Experts in each professional specialism offer courses.

Each successful student will receive a beautiful personalised Diploma in Decorative Arts from the Giorgione Studio at the end of the course.
